Sonam Kapoor graced the runway on Saturday in a heartfelt tribute to the late fashion icon Rohit Bal, whose contributions to Indian couture remain unparalleled. The renowned designer, who passed away in November 2024, left behind a rich legacy that continues to inspire the fashion industry. Sonam took to Instagram to express her admiration, sharing a series of pictures with the caption, “An honour to walk in tribute to the legendary Rohit Bal at @fdciofficial x @blenderspridefashiontour.”

Draped in an opulent ivory ensemble designed by Bal himself, Sonam paid homage to his signature craftsmanship and artistic vision. Reflecting on his immense influence, she wrote, “His artistry, vision, and legacy have shaped Indian fashion in ways beyond measure. Stepping onto the runway in his memory was both emotional and inspiring—celebrating a designer who was, and always will be, an icon.”

As she walked the ramp, visibly moved, it was evident that Rohit Bal’s work had touched not only the fashion world but also the lives of those who had collaborated with him over the years. Speaking with ANI at the event, Sonam expressed her deep connection to Bal’s creations, saying, “I am so happy to be here for Gudda (Rohit Bal’s nickname). I’ve had the privilege of wearing his designs on multiple occasions, and he has personally created outfits for me many times. To be a part of what is likely his final show is incredibly special.”

She went on to describe Bal’s design philosophy, which resonated deeply with her personal style. “He celebrated heritage and craftsmanship in a way that felt joyous and timeless. That was his magic, and it’s exactly why I have always loved wearing his creations,” she said.
